Organization 2020-2021

It is organized by the Belgian Football Union and is entrusted to "Competitions Department ". This manages the calendar (date, time, place) from the 1st to the 5th round included. From the Round of 16, it is the URBSFA Calendar Manager who organizes the matches.

Participants 2020-2021

This competition is open to any first team registered with the Belgian Football Union. The first teams of the four national levels play this Cup as well as those of the 160 clubs of the provincial divisions

Course of the competition

1. Dates of the 1st round: from 08/29/2020 to 08/30/2020, knockout matches between the 160 clubs in the provincial divisions and the 64 amateur division 3 clubs divided into 8 geographic groups
2. Dates of the 2nd round: from 06/08/2020 to 06/09/2020, knockout matches between the 112 remaining clubs and the 48 amateur division 2 clubs
3. Dates of the 3rd round: from 11/09/2020 to 15/09/2020, knockout matches between the 80 remaining clubs and the 16 amateur division 1 clubs
4. Dates of the 4th round: from 18/09/2020 to 23/09/2020, knockout matches between the 48 remaining clubs
5. Dates of the 5th round: from 10/10/2020 to 11/10/2020, knockout matches between the 24 remaining clubs and the 8 clubs of professional football 1B
6. Dates of the Round of 16: from 02/02/2021 to 03/02/2021 knockout matches between the 16 remaining clubs and the 16 clubs of professional football 1A
7. Dates of the Round of 16: from 02/09/2021 to 02/11/2021, knockout matches between the 16 remaining clubs
8. Dates of the quarter-finals: from 03/03/2021 to 04/03/2021, knockout matches between the 8 remaining clubs
9. Dates of the semi-finals: Wednesday 22 2021 and Thursday 23 2021, first leg matches and Wednesday 5 2020 and 6 2021, between Standard and Genk and between Anderlecht and Eupen
10. Date of the Final: Sonday 25 april 2021 in a single match between the 2 finalists

First, extra time, possibly followed by penalties for rounds 4 and 5 as well as 1 / 16th, 1 / 8th, 1 / 4th and the Final.

Ticket to the Europa League 2021-2022

The winner of the Belgian Cup 2020-2021 is qualified for the play-offs of the Europa League 2021-2022 and name for the pools (except for this season). If the winner of the Cup is already qualified via the Belgian Pro League championship for the Champions League, it is the club which finishes fifth in the Division 1A championship which receives the last ticket for the 2nd preliminary round of the Europa League.
